Why Tea is a Matter of Trust?
Have you ever wondered what actually ends up in your cup? Many conventional teas are blended with artificial flavors or come from untraceable sources. We don't compromise, and haven't for over 30 years. Our name says it all: Sanitas means health. That's why we combine traditional healing knowledge with the latest quality standards. Whether it's our popular Fasting Herbal Tea for detoxification or our Green Tea Sencha full of antioxidants, with us you drink 100% nature.
Strictly controlled, organic-certified and without additives. In pharmacy quality for over 30 years.
How Sanitas Tea Supports Your Well-being
Tea is one of the oldest natural remedies in the world. Our varieties are selected not only for their taste, but above all for their health benefits.
Detox & Fasting
Our fasting tea is specifically designed to support the body in detoxification. Ingredients such as nettle and mate stimulate metabolism and help balance fluid levels during a diet.
Energy & Focus
Looking for a healthy alternative to coffee? Our Green Tea (Gunpowder & Sencha) provides gentle caffeine that invigorates without overstimulating. At the same time, valuable antioxidants protect your cells from oxidative stress.
Quality you can taste
As a brand of Sanitas GmbH & Co. KG, we stand for products that are safe. Many of our teas come from certified organic farming to guarantee you the purest form of enjoyment.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Tea
How do I properly prepare green tea so it doesn't turn bitter?
This is crucial for the effect and taste! Let the boiling water cool down to approx. 70°C before infusing the tea. An infusion time of 2-3 minutes is ideal for our Sencha.
Is Sanitas Tea organic certified?
Many of our teas, such as Green Tea Jasmine or our Rooibos varieties, bear the organic seal (certified organic). Look for "Organic" or "certified organic" in the shop.
Is the Fasting Herbal Tea suitable for intermittent fasting?
Yes, absolutely. As the tea has no calories (as long as it's unsweetened), it does not break the fast and ideally supports your body with fluids and minerals during the eating break.
What about pesticide/contaminant levels in Sanitas organic teas and teas from conventional cultivation?
We take all insights into the nature of teas as an opportunity to further optimize the extensive joint measures for quality assurance. The difficulties and challenges lie in the fact that there are over 1000 different types of pesticides on the market, such as the controversial glyphosate. Analytical testing for residues is very complex and expensive due to this variety.
However, there is a big difference between a food product that is consumed entirely (e.g., fruit and vegetables) and one that is only partially consumed. Even with relatively high levels of contaminants, only about 10% of the contaminants from the leaves transfer into the finished brewed beverage. While this is reassuring, it is still unsatisfactory.
An alternative is organic teas. All our organic teas come from certified organic farming. Therefore, pesticide contamination can generally be ruled out. Compliance with strict organic guidelines in the growing regions is ensured by the responsible organic control bodies on site. Our organic control body is GfRS, the Society for Resource Protection, in Göttingen. Our organic control body number is DE-ÖKO-039.
And for all our teas (including teas from conventional cultivation), of course: Every tea distributed through a wholesaler must first be analyzed in the country of production itself. This means that the wholesaler commissions internationally certified laboratories directly on site in China, Japan, etc., to check the respective tea for residues. If a tea exceeds the limit values, it may not be imported into the EU.
We source our teas from a renowned German tea importer based in Bremen, who has been in the tea business for many decades and regularly inspects the tea plantations on site. In addition, our products are also regularly examined by the state food surveillance authority responsible for us. To date, all controls have been carried out without analytical complaints.
Which tea for a cold?
When you have a cold, warmth and sufficient fluids are especially beneficial. Many people then reach for strong herbal teas or fruit teas.
What effect does tea have, and can I still sleep well in the evening?
The effect of tea, of course, depends heavily on the variety and preparation. It also depends on how sensitive you yourself are to caffeine. Many teas have a stimulating effect. However, people with a high caffeine tolerance can often sleep well even after an evening cup of tea. If you react strongly, caffeine-free varieties like our Sanitas Rooibos tea, as well as herbal and fruit teas, can be an excellent choice for evening enjoyment.
Why does my tea taste bitter?
It is important to ensure good water quality. If you have very hard water, it is best to use a water filter. Furthermore, it is advisable not to brew green tea with water that is too hot.
