What is meant by controlled organic cultivation?
A new regulation on organic farming came into force on January 1, 2009. It replaces the previous Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91 and its many successor regulations. A key component of the EC Organic Regulation is the control system. In Germany, both state monitoring authorities and private inspection bodies are involved in the inspection system. All producing, processing, trading and feed manufacturing companies are inspected at least once a year. Additional unannounced inspections are also carried out.
